How did it start?

I've been reading the others blogs and everyone wrote something about the application process and their feelings about it, so i guess I'm gonna do so. :)
Well, to answer the question why I picked Japan... Not because of the mangas and animes. I've been fascinated by the music scene at first... visual kei... Dir en Grey, etc. I was listening to their music and I wanted to understand it. I mean of course I've read all the english translations but it's not same... After that I became really interested in the culture and their way of life. It's really impressive. The co-existene of the modern technology and the traditions So when I was 15, I told my parents that I wanted to learn japanese. =D They weren't so delighted at first, they though it way just some whim that I'll forget soon. But I was determined so they let me attend a japanese language school. And now here I am... I've just taken the nikyuu (2. level) at the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
I got to know AFS 2 years ago, and we soon became a host family for an american girl (for 4 months) then for a girl from Hong Kong (2008-2009).
Since I've joined AFS and I've met two japanese girls here I just knew that I.am.going.to.go to.Japan. My parents said okay, they were really positive about everything, their only condition was that I had to collect the money somehow. XD Of course part-time jobs were out of the question... I would never be able to earn enough money by doing them. So I was looking for scholarships. And after I've talked to the Hungarian AFS, I applied for the 2010-2011 program in 2008 November. XD That's when I had my selecting camp.. and I was selected. It's a funny feeling that everyone who had been there with me is spending his/her exchange year somewhere. And I'm still here... Well, but luckily I managed to find a scholarship about 50%... so I'm one of those crazy people who have decided to spend the best year of their life in Japan... :D
That's why I said my application process was complicated... because I didn't have to do anything else besides sending in the application form. I already had the selecting and the interview one year ago... :) But I was really worried about being too old to be guaranteed.

So all in all, my dream has come true, I was guaranteed and I'm going to Japan. I just wanna know my hostfamily and city now... =)

Na hát ezt most le nem írom magyarul XD
